SCU MBA team advances in the Global Investment Research Challenge

Wednesday, Apr. 3, 2013

Every year, the CFA Institute holds a Global Investment Research Challenge. In the GIRC, university graduate students compete for the best investment analysis presentation.

This year, seven teams, including SCU, registered their intent to compete at the Bay Area regional competition, sponsored by the CFA Society of San Francisco. Four completed their work and made their presentations in San Francisco at the beginning of February. A team of MBA students from Santa Clara University won this Bay Area Regional competition, and advanced to the Americas regional competition!

Santa Clara’s team was mentored by Professor Tony Nguyen, and included students, Monalisa Chati, Spencer Hsu, Amarnath Pallampati, Giordani Rivas, and Jiaqi Zhao. They flew to Toronto (all costs paid by the CFA Institute) to compete in the Americas regional competition on March 20-21.
