Andy Tsay : Keys to Innovation : Mercury News
Friday, Jun. 29, 2012
Andy Tsay, associate professor of Operations Management & Information Systems and department chair, was quoted by Mercury News columnist Mike Cassidy in his recent piece about what it takes to be innovative in Silicon Valley.
Professor Tsay concurred with Cassidy's theme that sometimes innovation is the process of taking the everyday and viewing from a different perspective.
"Most of [my students]...can never hope to have some breakthrough technology," Professor Tsay told Cassidy. “I just encourage them to open their eyes to all the things they see, the simple processes around them, whether it’s in grocery stores or the subway or wherever.”
