Advisory Board Merit Scholar
Jared Wilson, recipient of the Ed & Gail Thompson Advisory Board Merit Scholarship, recently joined the Leavey School of Business as an MBA student, expecting to graduate in the fall of 2015. He is currently working full-time while earning his degree as the Customer Service Manager for Novariant, a Fremont based company specializing in GPS steering systems for the agriculture industry.
We talked to him about his experiences with the Leavey School of Business so far:
Why did you decide to go back to school?
I wanted a challenge and wanted to accelerate my career trajectory.
Why did you choose SCU?
First and foremost, SCU has a reputation as one of the best MBA programs in the Bay Area. It is also in an ideal location for me and I like having night classes as opposed to having to give up my weekends.
What do you hope the Leavey School of Business will do for you?
When I leave LSB, I know I will have a solid foundation on which to build a successful career, and I hope to have a great network of people in a variety of industries.
What do you think of your experiences here so far?
I have met some really incredible people and have already made some great new friends. The classes have been a challenge, but the professors are great at explaining the material and are very helpful and accessible if we have questions.
