San Jose District 3 Office

The 3rd Legislative District of the City of San José is a unique and diverse neighborhood, currently represented by San José native, Councilmember Sam Liccardo. District 3’s territory ranges from Norman Mineta International Airport to the high rises of Ernst & Young, PwC, and Deloitte, from one of the largest homeless encampments in the State of California to the vibrant and culturally rich Washington-Guadalupe neighborhood.

In terms of city government, District 3 has its own set of challenges. Staff members and Councilmember Liccardo are faced with not only promoting and supporting the big businesses that have given the Silicon Valley its prestige, but also reaching out to San José’s marginalized population and stimulating growth in those areas. Most of NPI’s focuses, such as Yolanda's Market and CET, are located in District 3, making involvement at the government level imperative.

Some of the most recent focuses for this district are centered on economic and social justice for the homeless and marginalized, public safety, sustainable transportation, and promoting neighborhood vibrancy. NPI maintains involvement in District 3 through NPI Fellows, a unique placement program of Santa Clara students in organizations or institutions such as the City of San José with the intent to strengthen our local community.
