Alexander Field : Top Ten Paper : Social Science Research Network

Saturday, Jun. 2, 2012

“Economic Growth and Recovery in the United States: 1919 – 1941,” a working paper by economics professor Alexander Field, was recently listed in two Top Ten downloaded papers rankings, as measured by the Social Science Research Network (SSRN).

In the paper, Field focuses on a less-studied aspect of the Great Depression in the U.S.:  the growth of actual and potential output and the expansion and contraction of the ‘output gap’ during the years between the Great War and World War II.

SSRN lists the top downloaded papers daily for a number of research and topic areas. Field’s paper was in the top 10 for both the “Other Business History (Topic)” and Economic Research Network (ERN): Production; Cost, Capital & Total Factor Productivity; Value Theory (Topic).
