MSIS Board of Advisors: John Hoffman
CEO and Board Member
John Hoffman has 17 years of management experience and business leadership in the technology industry. As CEO and board member, he is responsible for day-to-day business decisions for RES and has an active role in business development and strategizing the company’s world-class IT services and solutions to the marketplace on a global scale.
Previously, Mr. Hoffman was chief information officer and general manager of eBusiness at Applied Materials. During his tenure, he held various key senior positions at Applied Materials including vice president of operations and general manager for the Etch Business Group, president and general manager of the Wafer Inspection Division, president of the Orbot Division in Yavne, Israel, and general manager of the Global Service Division, which grew from $200M to $500M under his leadership.
As general manager of Applied Materials’ Global Intel Account, Mr. Hoffman received the Intel Technology Manufacturing and Engineering Award for Account Excellence and Leadership. He also served as the deputy general manager of Applied Materials’ Process and Control Business Group. In 2000, Mr. Hoffman achieved the Applied Materials’ Maydan Award for Engineering Excellence.
He is a member of Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business Advisory Board and the Industry Initiatives for Science and Math Education (IISME) Advisory Board. Mr. Hoffman has also served on the Corporate Capital Committee, Corporate 401K Committee, Corporate Governance Committee, and currently serves on several boards of directors, including one non-profit. In 2004, he was selected as an industry leader to attend the National Conference on Ethics in America.
Mr. Hoffman is a 1982 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and completed the Stanford Executive MBA Program in 1992.
