CynthiaCynthia Dai, CEO/ Principal, Dainamic Consulting, Inc.; Commissioner, California's Citizens Redistricting Commission

A seasoned entrepreneur, Cynthia Dai has co-founded several high technology start-ups and served on the executive team of both early-stage and public ventures. As CEO of Dainamic Consulting, Inc., she has provided interim executive and business strategy consulting to high-tech and social ventures since 1992. 

After teaching a leadership course for the Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology (CET) at the UC Berkeley's College of Engineering, she launched the Tsinghua-Berkeley Global Technology Entrepreneurship program in conjunction with Tsinghua University's School of Economics and Management in Beijing. She continues to guest lecture on entrepreneurship, and leadership topics at universities in Asia. 

At Santa Clara University's Center for Science, Technology, and Society—home of the Global Social Benefit Institute—she is an Advisory Board member and active mentor to some of the world's most promising social enterprises. She has also headed the board of Habitat for Humanity San Francisco and served as Vice Chair of Lyon-Martin Women's Health Services. 

Cynthia has an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science with honors from UC Berkeley. She currently serves as a member of California's inaugural Citizens Redistricting Commission, which designed the electoral districts for the State Legislature and Congress that took effect in 2012.

KarlaDr. Karla M. Callahan, President & CEO, Vizyontech Imaging, Inc.

Dr. Karla Callahan is the founder&CEO of Vizyontech Imaging, Inc, an ultrasound medical device company. Dr. Callahan's career has included the high technology, medical device, semiconductor and computer industries. She has held engineering and business executive positions in 3 successful start-up companies as well as in large corporations, including Texas Instruments, Cypress Semiconductor, and American Microsystems. Karla was the CEO of United Silicon Structures, her prior start-up, an ASIC silicon chip company. Her leadership and technology expertise brought product-wins at Boeing (767 &777 aircraft) and Medtronic intravascular imaging.Organizations reporting to her have resided in Korea, Singapore, Turkey, Philippines, France, and the United States. Dr. Callahan also teaches at Santa Clara University as an adjunct for  Operations Management Information Systems. Dr. Callahan holds her Ph.D. (2004), Technology Mergers &Acquisitions,MS Engineering Management, and BS Chemistry.

Lisa Navarette, VP of Managed Cloud Services Sales, Oracle

Lisa Navarette brings more than 20 years of executive management experience. She is a Vice President of Sales within the Managed Cloud Services group at Oracle. Prior to Oracle, Lisa provided strategic consulting to firms in the Philippines and held senior roles at Alcatel-Lucent managing their North America Strategic Industries Business Unit and at LiveOps as their VP Sales.  Earlier, she held executive positions at Siebel in North America and France. She was instrumental in building the sales group for Siebel’s Call Center Application and drove Global Strategic Alliances and business development teams for Siebel’s largest Alliances.  She also held roles at Hyperion and the Federal Reserve Bank.   Lisa graduated from UC Berkeley with a major in Finance/Business Administration. She is passionate about teamwork and thinking different as core to business success.

Rochelle serves as the Director of Operations in the Global Engagement Office at SCU.She is a career-center   mentor and guest speaker for organizations such as Dress for Success and the Ascent Employment Program.

Prior to joining SCU, Rochelle has led business operations and finance functions at high-tech companies such as has VMware, Cisco, Altera and Xilinx and begun her career in the airline industry 15 years ago.  She is passionate about helping others find their inner voice and enjoys empowering people to create ease in their lives by living in alignment with their true nature and purpose.

Hilary HendershottHilary Hendershott, Founder & Chief Executive of Hilary Hendershott Financial

Hilary is a financial coach, money mindset expert, and experienced wealth manager. She has worked for nearly 15 years with people who want to preserve their wealth, make it grow, and eliminate financial stress once and for all.

She's regularly featured in Forbes, BBC On-line, Investopedia, NPR's Marketplace and Women 2.0. She has been interviewed multiple times by the Wall Street Journal. Her articles are syndicated nationally and she's a columnist in DailyWorth's Connect platform for financial experts. She's the go-to personal finance expert in Silicon Valley for the NBC evening news where they call her "The Investor' Voice of Reason".

This year, Hilary has announced her campaign to empower one million women to become millionaires. Her passion is empowering women to take control of their money and happiness, and achieve their financial goals.

IMG_3293Dr. Darrel Mank, Professor of Practice at SCU, Tech Start-up Veteran

Dr. Darrel A. (Del) Mank is an experienced executive in the high technology industry and has been deeply involved with starting successful new businesses and leading significant growth in large corporations. He has an extensive international business background and his career has included both public and privately held companies. His managerial expertise includes product development, design, marketing and sales, operations, and general business management.Del is currently working with a technology start-up that solves cloud memory access performance bottleneck problems to develop their market entry strategy and business model. He works as an executive coach and as management consultant to high technology start-up companies for whom he integrates technology, R&D, financial, and general management expertise.

Dr. Mank is a Professor of Practice and lectures at the Leavey School of Business of Santa Clara University in both the MBA and MSIS programs. Del has been active in both the international SCU Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship [CIE] with Fulbright scholars and in the SCU California Program for Entrepreneurship [CAPE]. In both programs, he developed teaching modules targeted at skill development for start-up executives and served as a business advisor to the nascent companies. Dr. Mank has created a successful 2-Day MBA seminar to familiarize engineering organizations and managers with the business, marketing, and financial world in which they work. His areas of teaching specialty encompass Business and Technology Strategy.

Dr. Mank was on the Board of Directors of Tundra Semiconductor Corporation in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and was a member &chairman of Tundra's audit committee. Tundra had a successful IPO and grew to $90M [Canadian], rebuilt after the crash, and was acquired in 2007. Prior to Tundra, Del was with Cadence Design Systems as the Senior Vice President of Design Services. He was VP of Operations and COO at Acumos and led a 15X revenue growth over a two year period. Acumos was acquired by Cirrus Logic for a >20X return. Del continued with Cirrus as Vice President and General Manager—Portable Products and Vice President of New Product Development. Earlier, Del was with VLSI Technology as Vice President and General Manager of ASIC and Vice President of ASIC Operations. He began his high-tech career with Texas Instruments where he held a number of engineering and general management level positions—and helped start two new product divisions.

Del holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Management, an MBA, and a BSEE. He has researched and published in the area of managing R&D expenditures in high tech companies for best shareholder returns.
