Courtney is entering her second year in SCU’s MBA program with a concentration in Food and Agribusiness. She obtained her undergraduate degree at SCU in Public Health. Courtney works for the Food & Agribusiness Institute within SCU’s Leavey School of Business. Her main responsibility is managing the institute’s research projects, including the “Real Cost of a Healthy Meal” study. Courtney is very excited to expand the Food & Agribusiness Network (FAN) by planning great events on and off campus, as well as connecting SCU MBA students with agribusiness alumni. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, reading and baking delicious treats.

Jennifer is in her first year at SCU in the MS in Finance program. She previously worked as a Leasing Manager for a large student property in San Luis Obispo, CA and, most recently, as a Community Administrator for The Irvine Company in San Jose. Jennifer graduated from Cal State Fullerton in 2010 with a degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Women’s Studies. Since she is new to the area, Jennifer is still exploring all of the exciting things to do in the Bay Area. However, she has previously enjoyed kayaking, surfing, and international travel. Jennifer hopes to use the combined knowledge from her two degrees into one exciting new career that will enable her to further enjoy living and working internationally.

Kathryn is entering her second year in the MBA program with a concentration in Digital Marketing and eCommerce. She earned her undergraduate degree in Communications from UC San Diego. Prior to starting the MBA program, she worked in the luxury fashion industry in managerial and operational positions. Kathryn is excited to spread the word about FAN and bring students together through a variety of events and field trips. In her free time, she loves to travel, bake, and attempt to teach herself different languages.

Lara is in her final year as an MBA candidate at SCU with a concentration of Food and Agribusiness. She graduated with a bachelor degree in nutrition and dietetics from California State University, Long Beach. She currently works at Stanford Hospital and Clinics as a clinical dietitian as part of the multidisciplinary adult cystic fibrosis team. Lara joined the Food and Agribusiness Network to meet others who share her interest in food and business and become more involved within the Food and Agribusiness Institute and the program. When she is not in school or working, Lara enjoys running, swimming, reading, and spending time in her kitchen trying out new recipes.

Marilena is in her final year of the MBA program. She is concentrating in both Marketing Management and Food & Agribusiness. Before beginning her graduate studies at the Leavey School of Business, Marilena earned her bachelor’s degree from Santa Clara University in Psychology and Math. Her work experience includes sports management and health food retail. She currently maintains a marketing role with the Bay Area favorite Le Boulanger. When she’s not concentrating on school or her career, Marilena loves experimenting in the kitchen, playing volleyball, and maintaining her Pinterest boards. With both an undergraduate and anticipated graduate degree from SCU, Marilena is proud to be a double Bronco!

Michael Billikopf is in his second year of the MBA program with a concentration in finance and agribusiness. He currently works full time for AT&T Advertising Solutions. In June 2013 Michael took first place at the International Food and Agribusiness Association student case study competition in Atlanta, GA. Michael was part of a team of five students from Santa Clara that competed against 22 other schools from 17 different countries. In 2012, Michael went to Svalbard on a National Geographic Expedition in search of the Arctic polar bear. On the trip they found 11 which included one they ran into on a hike through the arctic tundra.

In 2010, Zach Wise left New York and the film industry to pursue a career in his true passion – food. He was hired at Pacific Gourmet, a specialty dry goods distributor in the San Francisco Bay Area, and is now the head of its marketing department. He is also an MBA candidate at the Leavey School of Business with a concentration in Food and Agribusiness. In addition to his role as VP of Outreach for FAN, Zach was a member of the 1st place team at the IFAMA International Student Case Competition in Atlanta, Ga. When he’s not at work or school, Zach likes to cook, run, wine taste, hike and brew beer in his backyard.
