Global Women's Leadership Network is dedicated to helping women become visionary leaders ready to transform their communities. Since 2005, GWLN has graduated 160 leaders who work tirelessly in some of the most remote areas of the world. These profiles highlight a few of our graduates’ endeavors which are creating a better world by providing new opportunities for thousands of women, girls, their families and the community-at-large.

Organization: Lending Promise (Nepal and India)
Title: Helping Poor Mothers Lead Their Lives and Their Children to Live Their Dreams
Description: Lending Promise helps poor women achieve better lives with microloans, by enabling them to form small farming, handicrafts and other businesses. Through their resulting income, their children can go to school, realize their own potential and break out of the cycle of poverty.

Organization: Global Women’s Water Initiative (East Africa)
Title: Empowering Women with Clean Water Solutions
Description: My vision is to provide clean water and effective sanitation for rural communities in East Africa. Through leadership training and support, we empower grassroots women with water-based solutions to transform the lives of over 100,000 people in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.

Organization: FESAC - Fundacion del Empresariado Sonorense (Mexico)
Title: Eliminating Poverty Across Borders
Description: As the leader of FESAC, Alma provides critical social services for poor families living in the border towns of Nogales, Mexico and Nogales, Arizona. By developing strong and mutually beneficial U.S. and Mexican partnerships to support dozens of NGOs, she has created a long-lasting ripple effect that has helped over 40,000 people.
