Global Business Perspectives 2009

To be competitive in the global marketplace, international business experience is vital. Santa Clara University Global Business Perspectives offers one to two week intensive business courses in numerous exciting locations. Students travel the world examining critical factors impacting a global economy. This immersion experience broadens and enriches a MBA degree from Santa Clara University.

Students gain first hand experience in the global business environment through topical case discussions, corporate sites visits, meeting with local business leaders and interviews with government representatives. As a result of the experience, students attain a rich understanding of the local business climate and cultural environment with a strong potential for immediate application.

The program costs noted above include cultural/academic direction, lodging, most meals and local transportation. It does not include tuition or airfare.


Trips will typically consist of two or more pre-travel class sessions on campus in addition to a culmination meeting following the trip. Students will be asked to prepare a final project based on their trip experiences. 


Global Business courses are considered electives and may count towards a concentration depending on the focus of the trip. A maximum of two global initiative courses may be taken toward your MBA elective requirements.  In order to qualify for a study abroad trip, students must have 2 quarters of residency and maintain good academic standing. Pre-requisites will vary based on the focus of the trip. The pre-requisites and concentration details for our 2010 trips have not been determined at this time.
