Program Format and Details
The CAAP program consists of six undergraduate courses that are completed in approximately eight months. For those who have not taken any prior accounting courses of who need to refresh their understanding of basic accounting rules, we offer an introductory course (Actg. 180) prior to the start of the main program.

Admission requirements include a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university, or its foreign equivalent. Students should anticipate eight to twelve hours a week of out-of-class study. Students attend class on Saturdays. Class sessions start at 9:00 AM and end at 6:00 PM (unless otherwise noted). Priority consideration will be given to students who enroll in the entire program (Actg. 181-186), and those who successfully complete the program (with a minimum overall GPA of 2.0 and a passing grade in each class) will earn a Certificate of Advanced Accounting Proficiency from Santa Clara University.*

*Individuals who can demonstrate the need for specific accounting classes will be accommodated on a space available basis. Such students should contact the Accounting Department Director at (408) 554-4896.
