Some managers actually enjoy the process of writing, delivering, and receiving performance reviews, but it’s a very small group.  Rarely is it enjoyable because to do it well takes careful observations, consideration, and knowing a process that usually works for both people.  The key is to ensure that both sides understand the intent as well as what is meant and perceived as being fair.
