Spring '11 Newsletter

Greetings!

On behalf of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, we'd like to share some of the exciting events of the last few months:
  • Congratulations to all graduates! The CIE would also like to extend congratulations to Sol Tran, who has been named 2011 Outstanding Student Entrepreneur.
  • Startup Expo:  This exciting first-of-its-kind event brought over 60 local startups seeking interns to SCU to connect with students.
  • We're in the final stages of selecting the 2011 Cohort of the California Program for Entrepreneurship.
  • The CIE Speaker Series has enjoyed record attendance for our latest events featuring Guy Kawasaki and Ron Conway.
  • Together with the Graduate Business Programs Office, the 2011 Silicon Valley Regional of the VCIC was hosted at SCU.  Congratulations to SCU Team Alpha who competed in the West Regional of this exciting competition on their third place win.
  • The CIE hosted SCU Alum Andy Bartley of The Angels Forum and The Halo Funds, who graciously donated his time for one-on-one office hour appointments.
  • We continue to expand internship and career offerings to students at the undergraduate and graduate level.  Alumni and community partners continue to contact the CIE with these opportunities, which we are happy to share with our students.
We have a busy Summer ahead of us as we welcome the 2011 CAPE Cohort and continue to work to expand our curriculum offerings and cross-campus collaboration efforts.  Feel free to stop by and say hello!

Enjoy,

Dan Aguiar
