Undergraduate Internships

The CIE offers those enrolled in the Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Program the opportunity to apply new entrepreneurial skills in emerging Silicon Valley startups.  A variety of paid and unpaid internships are available throughout the year.

In addition, undergraduate students enrolled in the BUSN 145 Entrepreneurship Practicum course have the opportunity to intern for a quarter at both emerging and established startups.  This 2-unit course is available in Fall, Winter and Spring Quarters.  Undergraduate students pursuing a Minor in Entrepreneurship will also have an opportunity for a startup internship through MGMT 198E  Internship in Entrepreneurship.  For more information, please contact ljenkins@scu.edu.

Badger Maps Seeks Intern (3 positions-Seeking intern for Spring Quarter, Summer, and Fall Quarter)

---Job Description/Position Objectives---
  The 3 month internship consists of 6 blocks made up of the building blocks of sales and marketing, each block rotation lasting 1 month, and doing 2 blocks at a time (one Marketing and one Sales block).  Its important to note that candidates do not need to have prior experience with these skillsets, as we will bring candidates up to speed in all of these areas so that they will able to contribute. The blocks include:

Marketing Activities:

1) SEO / SEM - directory submissions, link building, forum answers. Writing for and Management of Badger Blog. Video and Audio Content Creation (Sound Stage, Garageband, Audacity). Look for opportunities to strategically use other forms of advertising (billboards, radio, print, mobile).

2) Social Media Account Management - Facebook, Google Plus, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, Youtube etc. Tracking impact with Google Analytics.

3) P/R - Build and maintain relationships with media and thought leaders in our field. Brainstorm creative ways that Badger can get the word out about its product and increase internet presence to improve SEO...Viral Marketing, Vine, Linkbait, blogs etc.

Sales Activities:
4) Cold-calling to find new leads and set new appointments for outside sales team.

5) Business Development - building email lists for outbound sales campaign and working with team in India that supports some of the legwork here.

6) Customer Support - answering customer tickets, responding to customer and prospect questions by phone and email.

  The candidate must possess strong written and verbal communications skills. Most importantly, a successful candidate will possess an entrepreneurial spirit and will display resourcefulness and tenacity.  We are a high growth start-up where every team member has a wide range of daily responsibilities. Because this is a unique internship in that it covers a lot of different core skillsets in marketing and sales, candidates must be able to pick up complex, new skills quickly.  This is best for someone interested in a career in Marketing in technology.

Part-time, unpaid internship, 20-40 hours depending upon availability
