Undergraduate Internships

The CIE offers those enrolled in the Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Program the opportunity to apply new entrepreneurial skills in emerging Silicon Valley startups.  A variety of paid and unpaid internships are available throughout the year.

In addition, undergraduate students enrolled in the BUSN 145 Entrepreneurship Practicum course have the opportunity to intern for a quarter at both emerging and established startups.  This 2-unit course is available in Fall, Winter and Spring Quarters.  Undergraduate students pursuing a Minor in Entrepreneurship will also have an opportunity for a startup internship through MGMT 198E  Internship in Entrepreneurship.  For more information, please contact

Would you like to add real marketing experience to your resume?

Have you ever calculated the viral coefficient of a blog that you wrote?

Do you know how changing the text on a single button can have the same effect as doubling the size of a marketing advertising budget?

1Factory is looking for a summer intern to help us with our online content strategy.  In this roll, you will write marketing content, review the analytics and engage our followers through social media.

This project is ideal for someone who wants to work in marketing and would like to differentiate themselves by having real world experience to supplement their academic course work.

At the end of this project you will have actual experience driving an inbound marketing campaign and understand the fundamental metrics that determine whether a startup will be successful.

1Factory is a Silicon Valley startup that allows companies to integrate their supply chain.  This position will be reporting to Ward Greunke, a recent graduate of the SCU MBA program.

---Desired Skills/Knowledge:---
  Excellent writing skills.
Be able to explain complex topics in a simple way.
Be able to tell a business story using text and graphics.
Understanding of basic statistics.

This is a part-time unpaid internship opportunity.  The time commitment is at least 25 hours/week (schedule is flexible).  This position is available immediately to start as soon as possible and extend throught he summer until school starts in the Fall.

This internship is ideal for someone who wants go to market experience.  We have completed the first phase of our product development and are in the initial launch phase.

Many great products die on the vine before they have a chance to gain traction with customers.  This internship is a chance for someone to learn and overcome the challenges inherent when first introducing a product to the market.
