Congratulations to the 2010 CAPE Cohort!

Congratulations to the seventeen emerging entrepreneurs who completed the 2010 California Program for Entrepreneurship Program offered by the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University. This program, administered by the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, was provided to the inaugural class at no expense through a generous grant from the Leavey School of Business Executive Development Center.
The six-month program featured five on-site weekends and a 7-day intensive workshop week of courses, online exercises, speaker presentations and group projects, culminating in a $5,000 business plan competition on the final day. Each of the entrepreneurs presented his/her plan before a distinguished panel of Silicon Valley leaders, venture capitalists and investors. The CIE also offered $1,000 to sector winners. The competition results are as follows:
$5,000 Grand Prize Winner
Barbara Ely, Pivot Furniture

$1,000 Services Sector Winner-Tie

Bill Buxton, College Textbook Equity

Anna Iosifova, NuTREEtion
$1,000 Technology Sector Winner
Henri Revel, Boutique Air

$1,000 Consumer Products Sector Winner
Charlene Davis, The Tablescape Diva|Tablescape Magic

After an intense last day of coaching and competition, the group celebrated with family, friends, faculty, mentors and judges at a certificate ceremony and dinner reception at the historic Adobe Lodge. Leavey School of Business Dean Drew Starbird, Executive Director of Entrepreneurship Programs Dan Aguiar and CAPE Academic Dean Jennifer Woolley shared reflections and provided an inspirational finale to the program.
We look forward to watching these ventures establish roots here in California and grow to fulfill the mission of CAPE: to provide the educational tools to emerging entrepreneurs to help them develop businesses that will contribute to the growth and well being of the community and the California economy.
Congratulations, best wishes for success, and welcome to the Santa Clara University family!
