2011 CAPE Now Accepting Applications

On behalf of the Leavey School of Business and the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, we are pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the 2011 cohort of The California Program for Entrepreneurship (CAPE).   We are expanding the program in its second year by offering space for up to 30 participants.

CAPE is a 6-month initiative for early-stage entrepreneurs in California who seek a dynamic and rigorous program in which to learn the fundamentals of starting and building a business.  By providing business education and mentoring, it is the CAPE mission to help entrepreneurs develop and implement business plans that will contribute to the growth and well-being of the California economy.

For applicants selected to the program, Santa Clara University will provide full scholarships that cover the cost of:
  • Classes
  • Workshops
  • Seminars
  • Books/Class Materials
  • Breakfast and Lunch During On-Site Program Sessions
  • Program Housing for On-Site Sessions

(for those who live outside of Santa Clara University driving distance)

Candidates will be selected based on their personal backgrounds and experiences, the stage of development and likelihood for success of the business idea, and the potential contribution to the California economy.  All candidates must complete an online application-this  process includes multiple exercises designed to refine the candidate's business idea and assess the potential for a successful launch.

The program begins in June 2011, with applications accepted through May 1.  For more information, to apply or to for a list of questions on the application, please visit the CAPE page on the CIE website.

Please feel free to invite potential candidates to apply and also share with friends and colleagues that may be candidates or know of interested entrepreneurs.
