Jim Thompson brings more than 20 years of international experience developing and evaluating winning investment pitches and more than 10 years of business development experience. He has written, pitched and evaluated hundreds of winning proposals, opportunity assessments, business plans and investor pitches. His clients include companies seeking investments for products or businesses, as well as corporations and investors looking to evaluate investment opportunities. Jim’s experience in both creating pitches and evaluating investments has helped him gain insights into some key factors for success, as well as blunders to avoid. His areas of expertise include strategic planning, new product planning, marketing strategy and product/business opportunity assessments.
Jim is currently a Principal with Aquest Consulting, and was formerly a Director with Navigant Consulting's Life Science Strategy Practice, where he led the practice's business development activities. Prior to Navigant, he was a Partner with Front Line Strategic Consulting and was instrumental in its growth and sale to Navigant Consulting. Jim earned an MBA from U.C. Berkeley and a BA in molecular biology/minor in chemistry from San Jose State University. He serves on the CIE Advisory Board.
