Daniel J. Aguiar
Dean's Executive Professor of Entrepreneurship
Executive Director of Entrepreneurship Programs

Daniel J. Aguiar is the Dean's Executive Professor of Entrepreneurship and Executive Director of Entrepreneurship Programs.   In this role, Dan will teach courses in entrepreneurship and be responsible for the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, our new California Program for Entrepreneurship (CAPE), as well as growing and promoting our entrepreneurship curriculum.  

A successful entrepreneur himself, Dan founded Front Line Strategic Consulting in 1992, growing the firm to a client base of more than 200 clients, $10 million in revenue and 50 employees. He sold the company to Navigant Consulting in 2004 and remained as a managing director, developing the company’s life science consulting division into a world leader.

Prior to founding Front Line, Dan served as director of strategic planning and corporate development at Pharmetrix in Menlo Park, and as a managing consultant for consumer products for Swander, Pace and Company, a private equity firm. He was also a consultant with SRI International after working as a research associate at UC Davis Cooperative Extension.

Dan is also a former Santa Clara University lecturer in Strategic Marketing Management and International Marketing in the MBA program from 1994 to 1999.

Dan earned his MBA from UC Berkeley, his MS in Agricultural Economics at UC Davis, and received dual undergraduate degrees in Agricultural and Managerial Economics, and History, from UC Davis.

Linda Jenkins, Program Director

Linda's primary focus is the planning and coordination of programs and events for the Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship including the CIE Speaker Series, Global Entrepreneurship Week events, Office Hours with Silicon Valley Experts, CIE Field Trips and the California Program for Entrepreneurship (CAPE). 

She is also responsible for management of the Minor in Entrepreneurship, CIE website content and development, serving as liaison to the undergraduate student club SCEO and graduate student network EC, CIE Advisory Board management, budget and financial reporting management and supports the Executive Director of Entrepreneurship Programs with curriculum, strategic planning, co-curricular activities and student/alumni startup activities.   

A graduate of Keystone College, Pennsylvania, with over 20 years of experience in the Marketing, Public Relations and Communications field, Linda joined Santa Clara University in 2008.  She previously served as Marketing Manager & Business Development Manager for Penn East Federal Credit Union, Scranton, and enjoyed more than 18 years at PNC Bank's Northeast PA Headquarters as Marketing/Public Relations Coordinator, Officer Status.  She is the recipient of the 2010-11 Leavey School of Business Collaboration Award and the 2011-12 Leavey School of Business Student Experience Award.


Nancy Hatlo-Donnelly
Senior Administrative Assistant

NHD photoNancy Hatlo-Donnelly joined the Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship in 2015.  In addition to providing administrative support to the department staff, she will also assist with internship coordination, curricular support, event support, student enrichment opportunities, the California Program for Entrepreneurship and manage our volunteer database.  

Nancy most recently worked in the Human Resources Department at West Valley Community College while she earned her Associate Arts degree in Communications.  She also provides administrative support for the security staff at Levi Stadium for weekend events, and maintains her position as Director of Product Management for Philips Lifeline/Lifeline Silicon Valley. 


Josh Thorson

Program Associate, 2015 California Program for Entrepreneurship (CAPE)

JoshJosh Thorson 2015 is an undergraduate Finance major and Entrepreneurship minor working part-time in the CIE and the Leavey School of Business Office of the Dean. 

His responsibilities involve serving as the on-site CIE representative point person for all on-campus sessions for the California Program for Entrepreneurship (CAPE).  This includes moderating and introducing speakers and panelists at CAPE sessions, working closely with faculty members and staff in class sessions, and assisting with updating CAPE assignments and presentations.
