Albert A. "Rocky" Pimentel
Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales & Marketing
Rocky Pimentel is an industry veteran with more than 30 years of change management experience with small, medium and large companies. He is the Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing at Seagate, where he has served on the board of directors since 2009. In this role, he leads the Seagate global team comprised of Sales, Sales Operations, Product Line Management, Marketing and Retail.
Prior to this position, he previously served as McAfee Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. In this capacity, Mr. Pimentel was responsible for leading all worldwide finance, IT, facilities and manufacturing functions, reporting directly to Chief Executive Officer and President, Dave DeWalt.
He has held previous positions as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Glu Mobile and as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Zone Labs, where he oversaw the company's successful negotiation and merger with Check Point Software. Prior to that, Mr. Pimentel was a partner with Redpoint Ventures, where he managed the firm's operational activities and contributed to business and new investment development. Mr. Pimentel also held the positions of Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of WebTV Networks, which was acquired by Microsoft in 1997, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of LSI Logic Corporation and part of the founding management team of Conner Peripherals, Inc., which was acquired by Seagate in 1996.
Mr. Pimentel has also held board of directors positions with Livingston Communications, where he advised the company's sale to Lucent Technologies (NYSE: LU) for more than $1 billion; Crossworlds Software, where he assisted in the sale of the company to IBM for approximately $250 million; SoftCom Microsystems, where he advised management in its sale to Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC). In addition to his board of directors positions, Mr. Pimentel also sponsored early-stage corporate investments in Brocade Communications (NASDAQ: BRCD) and Siebel Systems (NASDAQ: SEBL) during his career.
