The CIE is pleased to host Jim Thompson for Office Hours for Entrepreneurs to review your business plan or presentation, critique your pitch and answer your questions in an expanded 30-minute one-on-one sessions in the Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship on Wednesday, April 17-appointments are required. To schedule your appointment, please send your 3 available meeting time preferences together with your venture/topic for discussion to Linda Jenkins at ljenkins@scu.edu before Thursday, April 11. Appointments will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.

About Jim Thompson: Jim Thompson brings more than 20 years of international experience developing and evaluating winning investment pitches and more than 10 years of business development experience.He has written, pitched and evaluated hundreds of winning proposals, opportunity assessments, business plans and investor pitches.His clients include companies seeking investments for products or businesses, as well as corporations and investors looking to evaluate investment opportunities.Jim’s experience in both creating pitches and evaluating investments has helped him gain insights into some key factors for success, as well as blunders to avoid.His areas of expertise include strategic planning, new product planning, marketing strategy and product/business opportunity assessments.
Jim is currently a Principal with Aquest Consulting, and was formerly a Director with Navigant Consulting's Life Science Strategy Practice, where he led the practice's business development activities. Prior to Navigant, he was a Partner with Front Line Strategic Consulting and was instrumental in its growth and sale to Navigant Consulting. Jim earned an MBA from U.C. Berkeley and a BA in molecular biology/minor in chemistry from San Jose State University, and serves on the CIE Advisory Board.

About Andy Bartley
Andy is the CEO of Algorithsms.io, a stealth-mode technology company. He is a former Vice President for Voivoda Labs, a boutique acceleration fund for early-stage B2B technology companies. He also served as a Senior Associate at The Angels Forum and The Halo Funds, where he was responsible for sourcing and identifying potential investment opportunities in the life sciences, high tech, and consumer product spaces. Prior to joining The Angels Forum, Andy worked for Stryker Endoscopy.
He enjoys working with promising entrepreneurs to help them develop investor-oriented pitch decks and presentations. He received his MBA from Santa Clara University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Engineering from Oregon State University.

Andrea and Pietro are ex-Googlers (the "xg" in XG Ventures) who are now focused on the consumer internet including the mobile, video, gaming, social media and online media sectors.

About Andrea Zurek & Pietro Dova:
Andrea Zurek: Andrea most recently worked at Google, as a Regional Sales Manager and as an Agency Training Program Manager, within the direct sales organization. She has over 16 years of sales experience in both the print and Internet advertising industries. She founded and managed a group of national trainers who were responsible for educating the top advertising agencies, and their Fortune 500 clients from Madison Avenue to the local San Francisco market. She had been with Google for over 7 years, joining in early 2000, and was one of the original sales people hired to sell Google advertising. She built and managed the West Coast sales region, leading over 30 sales people with annual bookings of $100M+. She was responsible for inking over 200+ deals of new business, across multiple verticals, including building original partnerships with eBay, Wal-Mart, E*Trade, CNet, and Sun Microsystems. Prior to joining Google, she worked at Computerworld, an IDG publication, selling print advertising to high tech, enterprise companies. Andrea received both her BA in English, as well as an MBA in Marketing from Santa Clara University. Andrea is also a member of the Board of Directors at Sand Hill Angels. She has a passion for Italian automobiles, cooking, and competes in the Skip Barber regional race series. She most recently was profiled in the 2009 Top 40 Under 40 in the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal.
Pietro Dova: Pietro was Corporate Controller and Finance Director at Google from 2001 to 2007. He was partly responsible for the Google IPO and roadshow, and directed Google's operational and transactional accounting responsibilities worldwide. Immediately prior to joining Google, Pietro was CFO of Employeeservice.com. From 1996 to 1999, Pietro was VP Finance of Quote.com, an early online pioneer providing financial news and stock information to active investors. Pietro began his career in technology in 1988 at Oracle Corporation and held various executive finance positions through 1992. From 1993 to 1996 Pietro headed Fulcrum Technologies' European finance operations based in Paris, France. Pietro received his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from Imperial College, London and his Masters in Management from M.I.T.'s Sloan School of Management.
