The Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the School of Engineering Office of the Dean held the Fall CIE Speaker Series featuring Jayshree Ullal, President and Chief Executive Officer of Arista Networks, on Tuesday, November 19, 2013. 

As part of our celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week, Jayshree shared her story about her extensive experience, the launch of Arista Networks, and her advice for finding and pursuing your passion in your work

About Our Speaker: 
Jayshree Ullal, President & CEO, Arista Networks

Jayshree Ullal is a networking executive veteran with 25+ years of experience and was named one of the "50 Most Powerful People" in 2005 Network World and one of the "Top Ten Executives" at VMWorld 2011. As President and CEO of Arista Networks, she is responsible for building the company's business in cloud networking.

Formerly, Jayshree was Senior Vice President at Cisco and responsible for $10B in annual revenue from Data Center, Switching and Services, including Cisco's flagship Nexus 7000 and Catalyst 4500 and 6500 product lines. During her tenure at Cisco,Jayshree forged key alliances with EMC, VMware and Microsoft in virtualization and application acceleration. Prior to joining Cisco, Ullal was the Vice President of Marketing at Crescendo Communications, which was Cisco's first acquisition in 1993.

Jayshree holds a B.S. in Engineering (Electrical) from San Francisco State University and an M.S. degree in engineering management from Santa Clara University.

More About The CIE Speaker Series

On a quarterly basis, the CIE hosts the CIE Speaker Series- informative, entertaining events that feature a dynamic, leading entrepreneur or leader in innovation sharing experiences and advice with the SCU community, generating awareness of the role played by and importance of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Target Audience
The audience for the CIE Speaker Series includes SCU students and faculty as well as invited guests from the Silicon Valley business community and the CIE Advisory Board.

The CIE Speaker Series provides attendees a unique opportunity to hear a first-hand account of stories in start-ups and breakthroughs in innovation and technology including challenges and lessons learned.  Presenters typically provide a 45 minute presentation followed by an informative 15 minute Question & Answer session.

All CIE Speaker Series events are held in the Recital Hall, Music & Dance Building.  Program time is 7 pm, join us for desserts and coffee during check in from 6:30-7 pm.
