Mike Berry is one of the Founders, the first President, and is in his third year as a Member of the Alumni Council. He worked diligently with the Council in 2007 to determine its mission. structure and lead the first-ever business school Reunion. He graduated from the MBA program in 2005 and is currently at PayPal where he leads the Global Program Management team within Marketing Operations.
Mike’s career began in 1995 when he left McGeorge school of Law to start his own web site development company. Citiscape Media Design developed 150 web sites in a little over three years before it ran out of funding. From there Mike went on to lead the day-to-day-operations of the Internet Group at the San Francisco office of Foote, Cone & Belding, then the country’s largest advertising agency. Migrating on to system and database consulting, Mike worked for AnalyticI and then Business Objects until 2004. Halfway through the MBA program Mike went to work for Apple Computer’s Online Store. Shortly after graduation he left Apple for eBay and after three years in the online auction side, moved over to PayPal in October of 2008.
Mike is a strong believer in the education and connections made while in the business program at the Leavey School of Business. He thinks that this is a life-changing event that does not need to end at graduation but can and should continue throughout an alum’s lifetime. He feels that the value of the degree will only increase as we continue to build alumni connections.
Mike lives in San Carlos, California with his wife Jennifer and their two children; daughter Maddie (born in the middle of finals!) and his son Johnny.
