Student accounting association

The Santa Clara University Accounting Association (SCUAA) is a student-run organization that provides undergraduate accounting majors with professional and social activities designed to stimulate and develop the skills and relationships essential to an accounting career.

  • iconAccounting Association Officers

The SCUAA is managed by four or five senior officers who are elected in the Spring quarter of their junior year to organize activities for the upcoming year. They are aided by four or five students from the junior class (junior representatives) who are selected by the officers during their sophomore year. Current and past officers are listed.
  • iconMembership

All Accounting majors and A&IS majors are eligible to join the Accounting Association. Members receive notices about club activities (see below), club paraphernalia, and discounts on club events. For more information, contact the SCUAA officers through the official SCUAA email address: SCU.accounting@gmail.com
  • iconFall Quarter Activities

Club activities in the fall quarter are focused on preparing senior accounting students for on-campus interviews for full-time positions. The on-campus interviews typically occur in mid-October. Events include mock interviews, resume critiques, interview technique workshops, etiquette workshops, panel discussions on accounting career opportunities, and the Fall Meet-The-Firms (MTF) night, which unites our students with Bay Area firms interested in hiring SCU accounting students. The Fall MTF night is open to all SCU students and is attended by sophomore, junior, and senior accounting students, as well as some CAAP, finance, and economics majors.
  • iconWinter Quarter Activities

Club activities in the winter quarter center around preparing juniors for on-campus interviews for summer internships. Events, which typically occur in February, include mock interviews, resume critiques, interview technique workshops, and panel discussions on internships. The Accounting Department also hosts a Winter Meet-The-Firms (MTF) night for firms that interview students on campus for summer internships. Unlike the Fall MTF night, Winter MTF is limited to juniors who are seeking summer internships and provides an opportunity for juniors who studied abroad in the prior quarter to meet campus recruiters.
  • iconSpring Quarter Activities

Club activities drop off in the spring quarter as seniors prepare for graduation and juniors look forward to summer internships. The Association elects new officers who organize some spring events that introduce sophomore students to the accounting profession. The new officers also help with the annual end-of-year Accounting Recognition Dinner and begin scheduling events for the next academic year.
