Meet-The-Firms Night and Accounting Career Fairs

The SCU Accounting Association and the Accounting Department organize career fairs for students interested in accounting careers.

At the beginning of the Fall Quarter, the SCU Accounting Association hosts its annual "Fall Meet-The-Firms" (MTF) Night. This event unites SCU accounting students with potential employers who wish to hire them. This event is considered the most important recruiting event of the year and all SCU accounting majors and CAAP students are encouraged to attend. Dress for the event is formal business attire (suits and ties). Employers who attend the event receive a resume booklet that includes resumes from all students interested in pursuing a career in accounting. Students who wish to include their resumes in the booklet must submit their resumes in a prescribed format to the SCU Accounting Association by a deadline that occurs a few days before the event. In the weeks before MTF Night, the SCU Accounting Association sponsors a number of workshops designed to help students make a good impression at Fall MTF Night.

At the beginning of the Winter Quarter, the SCU Accounting Department organizes an annual "Winter Meet-The-Firms" (MTF) Night for juniors who are interested in applying for summer internships. This event is an opportunity for junior students to meet with companies that are providing on-campus interviews for accounting internships. Dress for the event is business casual. Employers who attend the event receive a resume booklet that includes resumes from all students interested in obtaining a summer internship. Students who wish to include their resumes in the booklet must submit their resumes in a prescribed format to the Accounting Department’s administrative assistant by a deadline that occurs a few days before the event. In the weeks before MTF Night, the SCU Accounting Association sponsors a number of workshops designed to help students make a good impression at Winter MTF Night.

In connection with the Summer CAAP program, the Accounting Department organizes career fairs for its Summer CAAP students and its Saturday CAAP students. These recruiting events are opportunities for CAAP students to meet with companies that are interested in hiring students with accounting skills. Many of the companies that attend the Meet-The-Firms Nights also attend these events. Dress for the event is business casual. Employers who attend the event receive a resume booklet that includes resumes from all students interested in obtaining a summer internship. Students who wish to include their resumes in the booklet must submit their resumes in a prescribed format to the Accounting Department’s administrative assistant by a deadline that occurs a few days before the event. Prior to the event, the Accounting Department sponsors a resume workshop to help CAAP students prepare their resumes.
