University Organist James Welch performs masterworks of the organ literature on the Schantz pipe organ in the historic Mission Church at Santa Clara University. His program of baroque and neo-baroque literature will include the Prelude and Fugue in E major of Lübeck; Trio Sonata in C minor, and Prelude and Fugue in C major (9/8) of Bach; Variations on "Votre bonte, grand Dieu" by Charpentier; Pastorale, by Zipoli; Pastorale and Fugue on Vom Himmel hoch, by Pachelbel; and three chorale preludes by Ernst Pepping. Also on the program will be the rarely heard Partita for English horn and organ by Dutch composer Jan Koetsier, based on the chorale "Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern." Michael Adduci of the music faculty at San Jose State University will perform the English horn part. This is a free performance. More Information
