Life Transitions and H4 to F1 Immigration Change of Status
  • Thursday, Oct 23, 2014 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Striving to balance studies, work, and family responsibilities? This is a reality for many students, especially those who are transitioning from the H4 dependent immigration status to the F1 student status. Aware of the special challenges facing students who are/will be in the process of changing H4 to F1 visa, International Student Services (ISS) has organized a gathering just for you!

The session will feature guest speaker, Sujata Patel, M.D. Dr. Patel is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Stanford University, where she has worked with graduate and undergraduate students at Vaden Health Center since 2005. Since September 2013, she has also worked as a psychiatric consultant to the Cowell Center at Santa Clara University. Dr. Patel is board-certified in child, adolescent, and general psychiatry. She earned a B.A. in human biology and an M.A. in sociology from Stanford University, and an M.D. from the Indiana University of Medicine. Dr. Patel then had a general psychiatry residence at the University of Michigan and a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Stanford University.
