Trustees Join the Board of Santa Clara University

highly experienced alumni: Kristi M. Bowers
'90, MBA '97; Howard S. Charney MBA
'73, J.D. '77; Mary Mathews-Stevens
'84; Jeffrey A. Miller '73, MBA '76;
and Betsy S. Rafael '83 were elected
to Santa Clara University’s Board of Trustees, bringing the number of members
of the governing body that helps steer strategies and priorities of the 161-year-old

Saisset explores the Intersection of Art and Craft
The
de Saisset Museum will open two new exhibits this fall which examine the
materiality and function of art. Beyond
Function: Fiber, Fabric, and Finery explores innovations in textile
art through the work of eleven Bay Area artists. Whereas Jeweled Prosthetics: Jewelry as Extension of
Self, features pieces by two artists who take jewelry beyond the realm
of conventional adornment. Both exhibitions will be on view August 17 – December

Anniversary of the Global Social Benefit Incubator (GSBI)
Celebrate
20 accomplished social entrepreneurs and listen to them pitch their business
plans in Santa Clara's Mayer Theatre on August 23. Tackling everything from
smallholder farmer crop insurance to off-grid electrification, to women's
reproductive health, the class of 2012 is bringing positive, lasting change
to impoverished communities around the globe.
