Oscar Silva '04 received his PhD in Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics from UCLA. As a Medical Scientist Training Program participant, he will be returning to the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA to complete his medical training.
In April 2013, Noelani Sallings '04 joined San Jose Jazz as director of business development. This organization has been around for more than a quarter of a century focusing on education, performance, and music.
Ashley Ritchie ’04, former opinion editor for her college newspaper at Santa Clara University, is an anchor at KMPH Fox 26, covering the Midwest. She received the 2005 Spot News Story of the Year from the Missouri Broadcaster's Association for her coverage of the Greg Norman murder trial. That same year, she also won first place for her investigative story on DWI checkpoints in Springfield. Ritchie's first children's book, Mr. Pickles Paints the Town, was released in March 2013.
Sara (Tobin) Raby ’04, husband, Chris Raby, and 2 year old son, Sean Liam welcomed daughter Sydney Quinn Raby on October 27, 2013. They live in Newark, Calif.
Jacey Prupas ’01, J.D. ’04, an associate in the Reno office of Snell & Wilmer, has been appointed to the Nevada Board of Bar Examiners. Her three-year term began in April. She previously served as a Nevada Bar Exam Grader from 2006 to 2008.
Prupas focuses her practice in general commercial litigation. She has experience with all stages of litigation, including pretrial discovery, trial, appellate work and alternative dispute resolution. Prupas’ practice includes representing businesses in all types of contract disputes, complex tort actions and product liability matters. She also has extensive experience with personal injury actions, both for plaintiffs and defendants.
Prupas received both her undergraduate and law degrees from Santa Clara University. Also licensed in California, she is a member of the American Bar Association and the Northern Nevada Women’s Lawyer’s Association, for which she served as a board member from 2005 to 2011. She has been recognized for several years as a Nevada Super Lawyers Rising Star.
M. Ryan Hubbard '04 D.O. completed his residency in internal medicine at Kaiser Permanente in Santa Clara. He was the recipient of the Stanford University School of Medicine Gold Humanism in Medicine and Teaching Award. He will join the Daughters of Charity Health Foundation and work at O'Connor Hospital, where he did a health care ethics internship during his time at SCU.
Colin '04 and Laura Harter ’04—Addison Marie Harter on June 7, 2013. She lives with her big sister Charley and parents in San Francisco.
Ron Hansen M.A. ’95, M.Div. ’04 is this year’s recipient of the Evil Companions Award, which honors a writer who hails from the West or writes about it. Hansen is an Omaha native who teaches literature at Santa Clara University. He has earned numerous honors in his four decades as a novelist, essayist and short-story writer, including the status of creating one of the longer and more intriguing titles in contemporary fiction: The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.
Meghan (Hanratty) Green '04 and Tyler Green '04 welcomed their second child, Nora Elizabeth, on March 20, 2013. She joins big brother Gavin. They live in Seattle, WA.
Noel Fonseca ’04 married his partner Kyle Davidson on July 5, 2013 in Urbana, Ohio. In attendance were alumni Manuel Perez ’04, Khanh-Thy Gonzales ’04, Juan-Carlos Guzman ’04, Deanna Sainten ’06, and Communications Professor Charlotta Kratz.
Rebecca (Levy) Corwin ’04 and her husband Brian welcomed their second child, Matthew Decker, on Sep. 30, 2013. Big brother, Jonathan, welcomed him home as well. The family lives in the Boston area.
On January 1, 2014 Alison R. Christian ’04 was promoted to Shareholder at the law firm of Christian Dichter & Sluga in Phoenix, Arizona. Ms. Christian is a co-founder of the award-winning ”Ladder Down” business development program for women lawyers and her practice focuses on insurance law and bad-faith litigation. Lindsay Caron ’04, MA ’07 writes: My husband James Caron and I welcomed a baby boy, Luke Andrew Caron on January 15, 2014.
Richard Augustus Brackett ’04 and Kelly Marie Morrison ’04 daughter of Kay ’74 and Paul Morrison ’73, were married on August 23, 2013 in Sacramento, Calif. Dating commenced after their 5 year Grand Reunion.
Jeff Bochsler ’04, inspired by his travels abroad during his time at Santa Clara University and after, recently published the e-book Be Multinational.
This book highlights 22 stories of everyday citizens from all over the globe who have traveled, lived, worked, and studied outside their birth country. Their stories of courage, strength, creativity, and growth remind us that venturing abroad is not a step back but a large step forward in our career, academic, and life pursuits. Becca Johansen ’04 married Marc Auten at the Multnomah Athletic Club in Portland, Ore. on August 24, 2013. In attendance, as the most awesome bridesmaid, was Mary Chandler ’04, J.D. ’07. The couple lives with their two dogs, Phoebe and Goose, in Portland, Ore.
Callie (Reger) Abrahamowicz ’04 and her husband Andrew welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Ainslie Anne, on October 7, 2013. The family lives in Bellevue, Wash.
