Arthur Whipple '77 MBA has been appointed to the role of chief financial officer at ABBYY, a leading provider of technology that helps businesses effectively action information. As a new member of ABBYY's North American executive team, Whipple will be responsible for financial planning and operations, asset management, and overseeing funding and risk management.
Geoff Long ’77 is policy director for State Senate President Kevin de Leon. His wife, Joyce Terhaar, serves as executive editor of The Sacramento Bee. Their two sons, Connor and Casey, are both UC Santa Barbara grads.
Fred Crary '74, MBA '77 is retired and enjoying volunteering and traveling with his wife of 36 years Kimberly Shanley Crary '77. Fred is also the creator/writer of The Bucking Bronco sports blog covering SCU men's basketball and athletics from the perspective of season ticket holders who want us to return to national prominence.

Cisco senior VP Howard Charney MBA ’73, J.D. ’77 and his wife of 34 years, Alida Schoolmaster Charney, have donated $10 million in matching and direct funds to Santa Clara University School of Law to fund a new technologically advanced, collaboration-oriented law school building, which will replace three current facilities and be housed near the business school to facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration.
