Brian Kozel '09 and Ashley Wells '09 were married at the Santa Clara Mission Church on July 14, 2012. Several SCU alumni were in the wedding party, including Joseph Wattoo '09, Ellis Fenske '09, Lauren Backes '09, Christina Harris '09, Tanner Diggs '09, and Adam Seppala '09; as well as current SCU student and brother of the groom, Kevin Kozel '14. Even more SCU alumni were in attendance as guests of the wedding. The couple honeymooned in France and is enjoying the beginning of their life as newlyweds.
Tae-Woong Koo J.D. '09 has been named president of the Korean American Bar Association of Northern California. Koo is an intellectual property attorney at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, based in Palo Alto. Koo's practice focuses on prosecution, protection, enforcement, and monetization of intellectual property rights.
John Kidde ’09 decided to do something crazy and quit his job to take a month-long internship in South Africa. From there he will circle to globe by going to Hong Kong and then meet Sean Murphy ’09 in Tokyo before heading home.

Haley Kaprielian '09 writes, "I moved to Los Angeles, Calif. in Nov. 2012 for a job as an Event Coordinator at Loyola Law School. I plan small events to multi-day conferences for students, alumni, and others in the legal field. I was previously working for the Northern California Innocence Project at Santa Clara School of Law doing marketing and development. No, I do not plan on going to law school. :)"
Leslie Maglione '06 married James Jensen on October 9, 2010 at St. Ignatius Church in San Francisco. In attendance were Joseph Maglione '77, Celia Raffetto Maglione '77, Jay Maglione '13, Claudia Panontin Jones '77, Mary Conlon Almassy '77, Steve Almassy '77, Alicia Del Prado, Katie Kiely '07, and Stephanie Rocha.
Leslie (Maglione) Jensen '06, J.D. '09 and her husband James welcomed their first child, Samantha May, on Jan. 17, 2014.
John Hogan MBA '09 was recognized as a "Champion of Change” by the White House for being particularly innovative and effective in answering the administration’s Youth Jobs+ challenge. The Youth Jobs+ program was created as a way to engage local elected officials, along with business and community leaders, to work together to connect young people with summer and year-round job opportunities.
The Traverse City-based law firm Dingeman & Dancer, PLC has added new attorney Matthew Hanley J.D. '09.
Hanley is a TC native, and attended Santa Clara University School of Law in California before moving back to Michigan.
He was admitted to the Illinois state bar in 2010, and to the Michigan state bar in 2012. He also has served as an extern for former Michigan Supreme Court Justice Elizabeth Weaver, and as a law clerk for employers including the U.S. Department of Justice and CafePress.
Hanley specializes in healthcare law and civil litigation including personal injury, nursing home abuse and wrongful death cases.
In February 2014, Caroline Gardner ’09 will begin as a senior tax accountant at SRI International, one of the largest contract research institutes in the world. As a nonprofit, SRI is committed to discovery and to the application of science and technology for knowledge, commerce, prosperity, and peace. In her new role, Caroline will be responsible for tax compliance issues across the US and internationally.
Freshman Dorm: Swig
After graduating from SCU, Paige Fujiu ’09 continued her education at Pepperdine University to receive her Masters of Art in Clinical Psychology Emphasis in Marriage Family Therapy and graduated with honors in 2011. In Los Angeles, Paige works as a Child and Family Therapist and has worked with populations from infants to adults, specializing in family systems, dealing with issues like anxiety, depression, attachment disorders, eating disorders, attention deficit disorders, substance use, domestic violence, child abuse, schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsion disorder, and bipolar disorder. Unfortunately, Paige will not be able to attend the reunion due to licensing exams. Paige has continued her passion for traveling the world and recently moved back to Los Angeles after living abroad in London for 5 months. Some of the places she's visited since graduating SCU include: Greece, Amsterdam, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Barcelona, Bilbao, Prague, Berlin, Budapest, Beijing, Xi'an, and Paris.
Jim Kopas '09 and Genna Forster '09 are happily engaged. The wedding will be at Mission Santa Clara in the Summer of 2013.
Chad E. Dupic ’09 and Michelle L. Pesce ’09 were married October 19, 2013, at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi in Santa Fe, N.M. The couple resides in San Francisco. Chad is a CPA at BDO USA, LLP; Michelle works as a Project Manager for Genentech, Inc. Chad and Michelle celebrated their wedding with Professor Angel Islas and fellow SCU alumni: Kaitlin Thompson ’09, Catherine Waite '08, M.A. ’14, Michael Taylor ’09, Derek Brown ’09, Kristina Arntz ’09, Jon Takara ’09, Michael Casado ’10, Ashley Gardner ’09, Kristina Chiapella Poulter ’09, Stuart Poulter ’08, Kristina Alvarez ’09, Addison Schroeder ’09, Elizabeth Carter ’09, Juan Ramirez ’09, Elizabeth Czapla '08, Jeff Matlock ’08, Lauren Roon ’08, Ben Burford '09, Arthur Gallanter ’12, Danielle Espinal ’12, and Madeline (Cheng) Hile ’09.
Lesli Redenbaugh '09 and Umang Desai '09 married March 10 and 11, 2012. To honor both cultures and faiths, the two had a Catholic ceremony followed by a Hindu ceremony in the city of Seattle. Friends, family, and SCU alumni Andrew Carlson '90, Craig Carlson '87, Margaux Chan '09, Simi Rattan '08, Rachel Manfre '09, and Meagan Diss '09 were in attendance. Following a brief stay in San Francisco, CA after graduate school, the couple has relocated to Seattle, Washington.
Katharine Deeny '09 is serving through the Jesuit Volunteer Corps at La Raza Centro Legal in San Francisco, which provides community empowerment and legal services for low-income immigrants in the community. The organization operates in five different fields with a Senior Law Program, Immigration Law, Workers' Rights, the San Francisco Day Laborer Program, and La Colectiva de Mujeres--a domestic workers group of women who fight for passage of workers' rights at the legislative level and are at the forefront of the workers' rights movement on both local and national scales.
Kate Deeny ’09 is giving a year of service with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps beginning this August.
Lindsay Damrow ’09 became a financial advisor for Merrill Lynch in June 2014. She will be working on the Armstrong/Eshoo Team based in Oak Brook, Ill.
Lindsey Cromwell '04, MBA '09 and Matthew Kalkbrenner '04, MSME '06 were married on September 12, 2009 in Honolulu, Hawaii. The bridal party included Adriana (Navarro) Alfaro '04, Sarah Tarpley '05, Aimee (Grush) David '03, Mark Kalkbrenner '04, and Scott Gunther '04. Bronco alumni in attendance included Lindsey's mom, Angela (Lum) Thomas '75, as well as Jake David '04, Jake Peterson '04, Kim Ehret '04, Christina Jimenez '04, Joy (Wasai) Nishida '04, Khanh Chau '04, Jeff Cook '04, and Sonia (Mungal) Cook '04. The couple lives in Santa Clara. Lindsey is the Sustainability Coordinator for SCU and Matt is a Systems Engineer at Lockheed-Martin.
