Daniel A. Hunter '81 is the Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer at Force10 Networks. He lives in San Jose, CA with his wife Debra, son Jack (17) and daughter Elizabeth (14).

James Houghton ’81 was profiled in the Aug. 10 Huffington Post article “Signature Theatre: A Crown Jewel in New York's Off-Broadway Scene.” The article talks about Houghton’s new theater complex in New York, which opens in late August with Heartless, a play by Sam Shepard.

Carol Dempsey '81 remarried Walter Frey on June 24, 2012, in Tiburon, Calif. Carol resides in Manteca with her husband and works for Woodside Homes.

Robert Freeman ’81, a Los Altos High School Teacher, will be honored with the Palo Alto Kiwanis Club's first Angel Award later this month for his work with One Dollar for Life, the nonprofit organization he founded.

The Angel Award was created to celebrate an individual or organization who mentors and impacts children in the community and throughout the world.

Freeman founded the nonprofit because he was frustrated with "teenagers' sense of impotence in being able to make a difference in the world." So, he made a model by which anyone, by donating a dollar, could participate and change the world -- provided everyone did so.

Through One Dollar, Freeman is working to get children in developing countries complete access to food, education and health care by providing transportation to schools, educated teachers and necessary nutrients. In five years, One Dollar has raised approximately $209,000 from middle and high school students and has completed numerous projects including sending 250 tennis shoes to students in Malawi and buying 20 piglets to save 20 Nepalese girls from being sold into slavery.

Chris '81 and Diane Fellenz '83 live in San Jose. Chris is a management consultant in areas of strategy, communications, process improvement & quality systems. Diane works at Bellarmine College Prep, in the Academic Resource Center. Their 3 children are still students: Kyle at USD Law, Curtis at UC Davis, and Janelle at Archbishop Mitty HS.

Matt Fairbank '81 lives in Yakima, Wash., where he settled after being in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps right out of SCU. He directs the Dispute Resolution Center of Yakima and Kittitas Counties, a non-profit mediation and conflict resolution center. He, his wife Michele and daughter Hannah enjoy the great outdoors, meaningful work, international travel. Hannah is a high school senior preparing for college. "Maybe SCU?" he writes.

Larry Eder '81, aka Stanley L. Eder, Jr., lives in Fort Atkinson, Wisc. He is president of the Running Network, LLC, which represents 23 specialty print magazines and 28 websites focused on the sport of running. He has been fortunate to have been credentialed as a journalist for the last six Summer Olympics. Divorced, Larry has a son, Adam, who is a musician/videographer.

Nancy Doyle '81 writes: "Just retired from my current Administrative position of Dean of Students at St. Francis High School, Sacramento. I will be moving to the Counselling Deapartment of the same High School. Two out of three of my children have graduated from College. One to go, woo hoo!"

Melanie Chladek MBA '81 was promoted to Administrative Partner and CFO of Institutional Venture Partners.

Deirdre A. Cherry '81, has relocated to New York City as a director with Merrill Lynch providing structured lending expertise for the Northeast Private Banking & Investment Group.

Theresa Carey M.S. '81 is a contributing editor to Barron's Magazine and has written "The Electronic Investor" column for over ten years. Along the way, she has authored the annual review of online brokers for Barron's since 1996 and has written nearly 200 columns describing tools for investors and traders. Carey is also the finance industry editor for eWEEK.com.

Brigid (Modena) and Mike Benham '81 will celebrate their 29th Wedding Anniversary this July. They currently reside in San Mateo with their 4 children close-by and eagerly await the arrival of their first grandchild in August. They look forward to their reunion in October.
