Karrie Grasser '70 received the 2015 Paul L. Locatelli Award for her outstanding service to the Alumni Association and Santa Clara University. She has been responsible for planning many of the University’s major events. Karrie’s eye for detail and her etiquette, sound judgment, and personal touch has shaped the University’s image for almost three decades.

Randy '69 and Helene Trescony Frakes '70 celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this June. The were the first couple to be married in the Mission Church after a hiatus of 32 years. Randy and Helene live in San Francisco. They have 2 sons and 2 granddaughters.

After 30 years (31 winters) in Truckee, Rob Eskridge '70 moved back to the Santa Clara Valley. He has a small ranch on Hecker Pass, in the southern Santa Cruz mountains. He's still leading strategic planning for mid-market companies as an outside consultant, and grandfathering in San Diego and Reno.

Carolyn Antonini Cardinalli ’70, M.A. ’73 retired from teaching Spanish at Amador High School in Pleasanton, Calif., in July 2011. She and husband John live in Pleasanton. Both are retired, travelling and helping babysit two grandsons, John Daniel Cardinalli 3 1/2 years and Kevin Cardinalli 1 1/2 years.

Sullivan, Donald

San Francisco Superior Court Judge Donald J. Sullivan ’68, J.D. ’71 received the prestigious Judge of the Year Award for 2013 from the San Francisco Trial Lawyers' Association at its annual black tie dinner at the Ritz Carleton Hotel in San Francisco. Sullivan currently presides over a trial department in the criminal division. Besides serving in the criminal division soon after his appointment to the bench by Governor Davis in 2003, Sullivan has previously served as a Judge in the Unified Family Court doing family and juvenile dependency matters and has had a variety of Civil Court assignments, including jury trials, elder abuse and civil harassment. Sullivan reports that he immensely enjoyed the 45th reunion of his class of ’68 and wishes he had had more time to  spend chatting with his classmates. Sullivan lives in Mill Valley with his wife, Genevieve.

Stoelker, James

James L. Stoelker '71, of Saratoga, was appointed to the Santa Clara County Superior Court by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Soelker has been a principal at Mount and Stoelker since 1988. Previously, he was a partner for Mount, Kraw and Stoelker in 1987, Eller, Burt and Stoelker from 1984 to 1987 and Garrison, Townsend and Orser from 1983 to 1984. Stoelker served as a staff litigation attorney for Western Title Insurance from 1976 to 1983 and an associate attorney for Atwood and Hurst from 1974 to 1975. He earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Santa Clara University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Santa Clara University.

Springer, Mary (McQuade)

Mary McQuade Schrey Springer '71, relocated to Eugene, Oregon in 2009 and has been instrumental in bringing the non-profit SecondSaturday to Eugene. One of the oldest non-profits in the United States, Second Saturday's mission is to keep divorcing women and their children out of poverty through education and support. Through her private psychotherapy practice she has also spearheaded a Grandparents Raising their Grandchildren Network and is on the Board of the Oregaon Association of Collaborative Professionals. She and her husband, Dean, also enjoy exploring Oregon backroads and her two granddaughters.

Sprigman, Charles

Charles J. Sprigman Jr., J.D. '71 has joined the Hoffman DiMuzio firm as Of Counsel. Following his graduation from Middlebury College in Vermont, Sprigman served two years as a line infantry officer in the U.S. Army, and then obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of Santa Clara Law School in Santa Clara, Calif. He has practiced law in Gloucester County since 1971. During his professional career, Sprigman has served as a municipal solicitor, school board attorney, prosecutor, and municipal court judge throughout Gloucester County, N.J. He has also acted as a member of the New Jersey Supreme Court Civil Practice Committee, Committee on Civil Jury Charges and the District Ethics Committee. Sprigman has devoted time to his community as a councilman in the Borough of Wenonah, trustee of the Wenonah Swim Club and member of the Administrative Board of the Kemble Methodist Church. He and his wife of 44 years reside in Wenonah, N.J.

Mary McQuade Schrey ’71, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Oregon and California, recently was placed on the Supervisory Registery for the State of Oregon and opened up an additional office at 1210 Pearl St, Eugene, Ore. She and her husband, Dean, spend as much time as possible in their second home in Kona, HI.

Russell, Christine

Christine A. Russell '71, MBA '83 has been appointed chief financial officer of UniPixel. Russell brings to the position more than 30 years of CFO and senior management experience for private and publicly traded technology companies. Over the course of her career, she has completed a number of IPOs, as well as both the buy and sell side of M&A transactions.

Russell previously served as CFO of Vendavo, a provider of B2B price optimization software solutions, where she helped grow revenue 20% year-over-year and generate a record bookings quarter before helping lead the company's sale to a private equity firm earlier this year. 
Russell currently serves as director and audit committee chair of QuickLogic Corporation, and previously served as director and audit committee chair of Peak International. She is currently the chairman of Silicon Valley Directors Exchange (SVDX) which affiliates with the Stanford Rock Center. Other roles included president of Financial Executives International (Silicon Valley Chapter), and emeritus member of the business school advisory board at the University of Santa Clara, Leavey School of Business.

I continue with my love of airplanes by volunteering at the SFO International Airport Museum. This gives me an opportunity to see my Pan American friends and 'talk over the Old Days.' In fact, we had a fun-filled PAA reunion in Monaco a few months ago."

Pastorini, Dan

Dan Pastorini '71 has published a new autobiography, Taking Flak: My Life in the Fast Lane, and was inducted into the San Jose Sports Hall of Fame in November. Pastorini quarterbacked the Oilers to the AFC title game twice, was the first player to wear a protective flak jacket and threw the pass that helped lead to the NFL adopting instant replay. His book tells about his colorful career and life, which includes 13 years as an NFL quarterback, professional drag-racing, dabbling in the Hollywood lifestyle, marrying a Playboy model, posing for Playgirl, and for his much-publicized brushes with the law.
