Erwin, Dan

Dan Erwin '06 Is graduating in June 2011 with a Masters degree in Marketing from Loyola University Chicago. After graduating from SCU in '06, he moved to Rome, Italy to work for Loyola's Rome Center. Prior to beginning graduate school, Dan worked as a legislative aide at the City of San Jose in Councilmember Forrest Williams' office.

Jonathan M. Edwards ’06, former member of the SCU golf team, and wife Jordan welcomed a baby boy, Jonathan Newton Edwards, on Dec. 29, 2011. He was 6 pounds, 15 ounces. They reside in Weiser, Idaho.

Megan Katherine Conlin ’06 of San Jose, Calif. wed Alexander "Zandy" James Eckrich of Kalamazoo, Mich. on Sep. 13th, 2014 at Mission Santa Clara in front of God, family and fellow SCU alumni including bridesmaid Christina Alexander ’06. Broncos in attendance included Rachel (Greenberg) Rasmusson ’06, Brandon Rasmusson 06, Chrissy (Brooks) Rice ’06, Michael Tirabassi ’06, Tara (Heitman) Tirabassi 06, Jenica (Mariani) Maldenado 06, Kellan McNamara 06, Alex Barrera 06, Walt Stephenson 06, Ryan Johnson 06, Varant Ovanessoff 06, Claire Bickenbach 06, Kendall Craver 06, Vince Castro 06, and Erin Kunse 07. "Shout" played on repeat the entire night. The newly married couple currently resides in Los Angeles, Calif.

Chris Duchesne ’06 married Michelle Donecho ’05, M.A. ’10 on July 12, 2014 at the Mission Santa Clara de Asis with a reception following at the Adobe Lodge. The wedding party included Matt Duchesne ’05 and Trey Miller ’13. The couple honeymooned in Maui and resides in Menlo Park.

Dezember, Michelle
Michelle Dezember ’06 is the director of education for the Museum of Modern Art, Mathaf, Qatar. As a member of the executive team, she served as master of ceremonies for the opening of the museum as her proud parents looked on. She has been in Qatar about a year. After graduating from SCU, Michelle received a Fulbright scholarship to study at the University of Barcelona. She worked at the Brooklyn Museum before heading to Qatar.

Elia DeLuca '02, J.D. '06 has been appointed to Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton's LLP Labor and Employment practice group. The practice focuses on traditional labor and employment issues in a variety of industries, including trucking, airlines transportation, technology, entertainment, environmental, recycling and solid waste services. The firm also specializes in representing clients in union negotiations, organizing campaigns and unfair labor practice proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board.

Elia DeLuca ’02, J.D. ’06 was named a Rising Star in the Northern California Super Lawyers 2013 edition, which recognizes the top up-and-coming attorneys in the state. DeLuca practices labor and employment law in the San Francisco office of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton.

Freshman Dorm: Walsh

After graduating with her bachelor's degree, Jen Darling '06, M.A. '08 taught 4th grade in East Side San Jose for a year and realized that teaching was not her true calling. She went on to receive her Teaching Credential and Masters in Education with an emphasis in Correctional Psychology & Alternative Education from Santa Clara University and now works happily back at SCU as a fundraiser.

Peter Castle J.D. ’06 joined Peak Vista Community Health Centers as manager of business development and partnerships. Castle is the former programs director for the Colorado Business Group on Health. He has been in the nonprofit field for more than six years and is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder, Santa Clara University School of Law, and the Coro Center for Civic Leadership.

Busch, Mark

 

Mark Busch '06 is holding a fundraiser on Oct. 29th in San Francisco to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The fundraiser is part of a larger fundraiser project named “Operation: Pink Paddle,” whose goal is to raise $25,000 for the BCRF in conjuncture with an international paddling trip. Busch writes: "The goal of the trip is to paddle the first descent of 3 rivers in South America, starting in Bolivia and paddling roughly 1,800 miles to Buenos Aires. The trip will take place Dec. 2011.  Please visit our website, www.operationpinkpaddle.com, to make a donation, and learn more about the trip, the impetus behind it, and who we are."

Becker, Melinda

Melinda Becker '04, M.A. '06, a classical singer, recently earned her M.F.A. in Vocal Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She performs frequently as a soloist and as a member of Duo Fado in the U.S. and internationally, with guitarist Thomas Walsh. This July, they were featured in a Spanish song festival in Madrid, Spain and will begin a London concert tour in September. Melinda is a member of the music faculty at Marymount College in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., and lives in San Francisco.

Bacolini will be responsible for servicing HUB’s Northern California middle-market corporate clients. Prior, she served as in a similar capacity for Sequoia Benefits in the San Francisco Bay Area.
