Mark A. Davis ’01 and his wife, Rachel, welcomed their daughter, Leila Magdalene Antoun Davis, on July 14, 2011. She was born at home into her daddy's loving hands.  Mark is a partner at Davis Enterprises in Phoenix, Ariz. 

Paul Curtis '01 and wife Barbie - their first child, son Jackson Oliver on October 14, 2009. He was 8 pound, 7 ounces and 20 inches long. The family lives in San Francisco.

Jennifer Cooke '01 wites: "I live in San Mateo and work as the Director of Marketing for Strikeforce MMA in San Jose. I'm about to graduate from the SCU MBA program in June 2011!"

Jayne (Whitney) Cantello '01 and husband Joseph Cantello welcomed their second son, Samuel William, on May 25, 2010. He joins big brother Joseph Christian, 2. The happy family resides in Oakley, CA.

Tara A. Cano '01 owns a home in Campbell, Ca. and is a Financial Advisor with Wells Fargo Advisors in downtown San Jose.

Andrea Cairella '01 opened her own private counseling practice in the spring of 2010 in Phoenix, Ariz. where she specializes in trauma and couples therapy. In the fall of 2011, she will be opening up another True Potential Counseling center in Milan, Italy and leading couple's workshops throughout Europe.

Kristin (Simms) Byrnes '01, M.Div. '05 and her husband Billy have accepted volunteer positions for two years with Volunteer Missionary Movement. They leave the beginning of September for Waslala, Nicaragua. They will serve as English teachers at Instituto Agropecuario de Waslala, which is a teaching farm and certified secondary school that offers educational opportunities focused on diversified and sustainable farming practices specifically designed for the Waslala region of Nicaragua. Billy and Kristin will also participate in some of the various ministries the local parish provides.

Nick Buccola '01 accepted a tenure track appointment in the Department of Political Science at Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon.

Freshman Dorm: Day Student/Off Campus

Roy Brooks '01 was recently accepted for Fall 2011 entrance into the Ph.D. studies program in Theatre History and Criticism at the University of Georgia. He plans to study and write about the intersections of philosophy and performance--especially as they relate to identity, spirituality, and the human person.

Freshman Dorm: Graham 200

Dominic Boitano '01 and Courtney Daniels '03 were wed in Carmel, Calif., on May 14, 2011. Dominic is working in Irvine for a real estate pension fund advisor and development company. He has advised clients on real estate transactions valued in excess of $5 billion. Courtney received her doctorate in Occupational Therapy from USC and is working with special needs children in the Hermosa Beach School District.

Eric Ballatore '01 and Rosario Lopez Ballatore '01 welcomed their first child, a baby boy, Giovanni on April 25th, 2010. The family lives in Valley Ford, California.

Freshman Dorm: Campisi

Mark Babula '01 writes: "I married Shawna (O'Day) in 2005 and we have a daughter and a son. I earned my doctorate in psychology 2007 and now work as a psychologist in Ohio."

Jaime (Novotny) Allen '01 is the director of education at Humane Society Silicon Valley in Milpitas. She and husband, Ron, have no children but are filling their lives (naturally) with a multitude of pets. Minky, Bouncer, Miss Emily, and Munchkin complete their family. They live in San Jose.

Katie (Barlag) Ackerman '01 and husband Brian welcomed their second daughter, Adeline Paige, on December 3, 2009. Addie joins her big sister, Gracie, 4. The family lives in Atlanta, Georgia.

Matthew Zilli ’02 was newly appointed Vice President of Marketing at LineStream Technologies. Recent leadership positions he has held include head of sales and marketing at VideoGenie; and product and business development manager at Rovi Corp (formerly Macrovision).

Jeannine Torres '02 has completed her MBA at NYU's Stern School of Business where she was a Consortium Fellow. She has also begun her studies at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government where she is pursuing her MPA in public policy.

Stephen Tonna '01 and Margery (Blain) Tonna '02 welcomed a baby boy, Joshua, to the world on February 23, 2010. The family resides in Willow Glen, and Joshua's proud parents both work in marketing at Apple Inc. in Cupertino.

Steffan Tomlinson MBA ’02 was named chief financial officer of Palo Alto Networks, a Santa Clara based network security company known for its Next Generation Firewalls.

From 2005 to 2011, Tomlinson served as CFO of Aruba Networks, playing a key role in the company’s Initial Public Offering, something attractive to Palo Alto Networks as the company moves closer to an IPO.

From 2000 to 2005, Tomlinson served multiple roles including CFO of Peribit Networks, a WAN optimization technology company acquired by Juniper Networks in 2005 in a deal valued at approximately $337 million. He earned an MBA from Santa Clara University and a BA from Trinity College in Hartford, Conn.

Andrew Thompson '03 and Beth (Livingston) Thompson '02 welcomed their daughter Alice Eliza Joy on August 21, 2012. Alice joins big brothers Henry and Timothy. The family lives in San Jose.

Joseph Thannickal M.A. ’02 writes that his book, Gifted Journey, has been published in India by Pauline Media. "It deals with finding Meaning in life and enriching our spirituality. Some people have found it a good bridge between Viktor Frankl's contribution of meaning in life and Catholic Spirituality. I enjoyed writing it, and I want to thank many people who have given me positive feedback. By the way, St.Paul's has just told me they are going for a second print. It is not available in the US.
