Paul Locatelli, S.J., became president of Santa Clara University in 1988. In addition to his duties as president, he has been given the assigment by the Superior General of the Society of Jesus to serve as Secretary for Higher Education for all Jesuit colleges and universities in the world. Lucia Albino Gilbert is provost and a professor of psychology and professor of counseling psychology. As provost, she is the chief academic officer with responsibility for all educational programs and offerings of the University, as well as academic policies, faculty affairs and personnel matters, and student-life issues. She provides leadership to the deans, vice provosts, chief information officer, and director of athletics and recreation to ensure that the educational programs and offerings are consistent with the University's vision, mission, and values. Jim Purcell is the vice president of University Relations. As vice president, he is responsible for Alumni Relations, Development, and the Office of Marketing and Communications and is a member of the President’s Cabinet. The Development Office recently completed the University-wide Campaign for Santa Clara, which raised more than $404 million for scholarships, faculty, capital projects, and technology that will transform the face of the University. Robert Warren is vice president for administration and finance at Santa Clara University, reporting directly to the president. He is the senior officer responsible for providing financial and administrative leadership to support the core activities of the University. As vice president, he oversees financial management, human resources, administrative services, construction and facilities maintenance, campus safety, internal audit, and risk management. The vice president also serves as University liaison to the Investment, Finance, and Master Planning committees of the Board of Trustees; the Board of Regents, public officials; outside legal counsel; investment managers; contractors; and the community. John Ottoboni was appointed as Santa Clara University’s first in-house General Counsel in January 2007. Reporting to the President, John provides legal counsel, guidance and policy analysis to the University, its President and Board of Trustees, senior administrative and academic officers, and other constituent units. John serves as the University’s chief legal officer. In addition to providing legal advice and counsel on a broad range of issues, the Office of the General Counsel is also responsible for engaging the services of outside law firms for specialized legal needs. |
